Feeding frozen food has never been so easy. With the help of the Aqua Thaw Defroster, you can now defrost your frozen fish food within the aquarium, as well as manage the rate the food is released and the area that you feed. Using the Aqua Thaw will help increase your feeding time, efficiency and reduce food waste.
Each Aqua Thaw defroster comes complete with a magnet attachment that will suspend the AquaThaw within your aquarium. The standard magnet will work well on any glass thickness up to 15mm.
To defrost your food, we advise that the water access holes on the top cup of your Aqua Thaw are placed on or above the water level. The amount of water entering the top cup will impact how much the food placed in the AquaThaw tumbles, and in turn how fast it defrosts. A block or section of frozen food can then be placed within the top cup to begin defrosting.
Once you are happy that your food is sufficiently defrosted, you can then spin the cup to open the feeding holes within the ring of your defroster. These can be opened or closed to ensure that the food is released at your preferred rate, or based on the size of the food being fed. If you wish to release more food than can escape through the open holes, simply drop the top cup below the water level of your aquarium.
Both the top and bottom cups of your Aqua Thaw can be removed for cleaning. Once removed you can also utilise the Aqua Thaw mounting ring as a water surface container to feed floating foods such as flakes and pellets, helping to keep food in one place and stop uneaten food heading to your filter.
