Tunze Comline DOC Skimmer 9004

This can be a bit large for some tanks but perfect for my 130l tank. When positioned right there is very little noise. Strong magnets and easy to assemble although instructions were not in English the pictures told the story. Every day I empty my tray with the small amount of brown liquid collected so must be working OK. Not noticed a difference in my corals but mine is a new setup.

Compact and does an excellent job.

This is a really nice skimmer compared to the fluval ps1 that came with my tank. Even though fluval produce some high quality equipment, I feel that they have let themselves down with their skimmer. After having some issues with the ps1 I decided to upgrade to the tunze doc 9004. And what an upgrade! Within an hour it was producing a nice thick foam. After a week there is not much foam at all. This is down to my tank not having much stock in it at the moment as its in its early days meaning it's doing its job almost too well. I feel confident that this skimmer will cope well when I add more corals and fish. The quality is apparent as soon as you open the box. Well packaged, a label with a signed qc stamp, 2 year warranty and even a cleaning brush. The magnetic holders work well and there is no assembly required. The first thing I noticed was how quiet it is compared to the fluval. All I can hear are the bubbles fizzing in the cup no horrible humming like with the fluval. I can now put this skimmer where it's supposed to go in my fluval m90 tank ( other fluval M owners will sympathise with this) The only downside with this skimmer is that the size of it meant that Ive had to mount it sideways in the rear filter section of my tank. This is obviously not a problem with the skimmer and it does not cause any issues. Also the air adjustment is very delicate as in the smallest turn of the screw will make a big difference. It's a very simple design but works well. Overall this is a high quality skimmer which does the job it's made for very well.

Brilliant bit of kit, bedding in quickly and pulling loads of crud out

This skimmer is excellent! Brought it to replace my V2 200 skimmer as although the V2 has always skimmed ok, it doesn't skim the surface and is very noisy. The Tunze is very quiet and skims the surface. Now producing loads of crud, way more than the V2. Was foaming up within a hour of installation! Highly recommended.
