Custom reef aquarium, built for a senior manager at one our corporate clients in the City of London.

This custom reef aquarium was built for a senior manager at one our corporate clients in the City of London. After spending years looking at the stunning reef aquariums in his office he commissioned us to recreate one at his beautiful home in Poole. After the initial consultation we agreed that his office was the perfect space. Keeping the modern design of the house in mind we proposed more depth than height of the display tank to maximise the potential of the aquascape. Entering the room from the office and patio doors, the extra depth put more emphasis on the 3 viewing panels rather than just the front. All of the filtration is housed underneath and given the size of the frame work we created a mini laboratory under the tank. Our Bournemouth based partners maintain this aquarium and we have made multiple deliveries of fish and coral. Watch this space for more updates…

Install

With a display tank measuring 3.2 metres long and holding around 1,800 litres, careful planning was essential. The aquarium was installed on a bespoke structural frame, with the three viewing panels positioned to make the most of the room from both the office and patio doors. All filtration, plumbing and technical equipment was neatly housed beneath the aquarium, creating a dedicated service area while keeping everything hidden from view. Once installed, the system was commissioned and prepared for its mixed reef of fish and corals.

Maintenance

Ongoing maintenance is handled by our Bournemouth-based partners, ensuring the aquarium remains healthy and looking its best. Regular visits cover water testing, cleaning, filtration servicing and equipment checks, alongside the ongoing care of the mixed reef. We also supply and deliver carefully selected fish and corals as the aquarium continues to mature.
