Filter construction
Overflow filters feature a suction pump tank that draws water from the aquarium, passes it through filtering media, and then returns the purified water back via the outlet pipe.
The Aquael Versamax includes a filter cover, overflow assembly, and a filter media container with foam insert, all securely sealed for safety. Easy to install by hanging on the aquarium wall, it effectively purifies and aerates water, providing thorough mechanical and biological filtration through its efficient design.
How it's working?
To start, place the filter on the outside wall of the aquarium with the suction tube inside. Fill the filter container with water and connect to power. Flow can be adjusted with a knob on the overflow unit, allowing optimal control of water circulation and angle of output. The pump draws water from lower regions of the tank, passes it through the media and returns clear, oxygenated water to the aquarium.
Practical filter baskets make cartridge replacement quick and mess-free; cartridges can be freely combined to tailor mechanical, chemical and biological media to your needs.
As standard, the filter includes a sponge insert made of special phenol-free material where beneficial bacterial cultures readily develop. These cultures remove organic pollutants, ensuring reliable biological filtration alongside mechanical cleaning. Arrange different media layers in both parts of the filter baskets for optimal performance and crystal-clear water.

The overflow filter operates quietly, making it suitable for living rooms, bedrooms and children's rooms. The unit is supplied ready to use (plug&enjoy) and includes mechanical media for immediate operation.
