Carbonate hardness (KH) measures the bicarbonate and carbonate content in water, playing a crucial role in maintaining pH stability and serving as a CO2 backup reserve when CO2 levels drop. This advanced conditioner is derived from potassium bicarbonate, effectively increasing both carbonate hardness and potassium levels to support a healthy aquatic environment.
With a concentration of 2000 meq/L (5600 dKH) and containing 78,300 mg/L potassium, it provides a powerful solution for enhancing water quality. Regular use helps stabilize pH and supplies essential potassium, vital for thriving aquatic plants.
Directions
Add 30 mL to 60 L (15 US gallons) of water once a week or as needed. This dosage raises carbonate hardness by 1 meq/L (2.8 dKH) and increases potassium by 40 mg/L. For unbuffered water or when CO2 injection is absent, use a reduced dose of ¼ to ½ to avoid affecting pH levels.
Plant preferences vary, but a general guideline is to maintain carbonate hardness around 1-2 meq/L (3-6 dKH) to optimize growth and vitality.
This product is ideal for freshwater planted aquariums, ensuring a stable and nutrient-rich environment that promotes healthy plant development and overall aquatic balance.
