Cryptocoryne petchii is a small, attractive aquatic plant with lance-shaped leaves that range in color from green to reddish-brown, making it a great choice for adding subtle color and texture to an aquascape. Its compact size and bushy growth habit make it ideal for both foreground and midground placement in aquariums. Cryptocoryne petchii is highly adaptable and can thrive in a variety of water conditions, making it a great choice for beginners. It can tolerate lower light levels, but it will grow more robustly and develop richer colors under moderate lighting. CO2 supplementation is not required but can enhance its growth rate and leaf coloration. Like other Cryptocoryne species, it may experience a temporary "melt" phase when introduced to a new environment, but it will recover and grow back stronger. This plant’s low-maintenance nature and steady growth make it an excellent addition to any aquascape.
Crustacean Safety Notice: Aquatic plants may have been exposed to pesticide treatments that can be harmful to shrimp, snails and other crustaceans. If your aquarium contains crustaceans, we recommend soaking plants for 24 hours before introduction in a solution of 1 tablespoon of bicarbonate of soda per 1 litre of water, ideally under lighting.
