Feeding: Omnivorous by nature, the Geophagus Sveni has a varied diet. In the aquarium, they will readily accept a mix of high-quality cichlid pellets, frozen or live foods such as brine shrimp and bloodworms, and vegetable matter. Their sand-sifting behavior means they will also pick at any edible particles they find in the substrate.

Tank Mates: Peaceful and sociable, Geophagus Sveni can be housed with a variety of tank mates. Ideal companions include other South American cichlids of similar size, tetras, and catfish that appreciate the same calm and mildly acidic to neutral water conditions. Avoid overly aggressive species that may stress or harass your Geophagus.

Aggression: Generally peaceful, the Geophagus Sveni shows minimal aggression towards tank mates. However, like many cichlids, they can become territorial during breeding. Providing ample space and hiding spots can mitigate this behavior.

Experience Level: Intermediate. While not overly demanding, maintaining the water quality and environment that Geophagus Sveni requires does necessitate a certain level of aquarium keeping experience.
