Highly concentrated (1L contains 50.160 mg/l calcium and 7.000 °dKH/l), it’s designed to work seamlessly with a complete Reef Keeping System, or as a standalone method, and is also compatible with calcium reactors.
Important! Organic dosing can significantly reduce nutrients via bacterial activity, which may lead to pale coloration or stagnation. Monitor NO3 and PO4 and dose N+ and P+ if needed, especially in low-nutrient systems. Consider this a form of carbon dosing and reduce or stop separate carbon sources when in use.

You can use it in 3 ways:
- Alone as a base reef-keeping system
- With a Reef Keeping System as “saving-mode”
- In reef aquariums with calcium reactors
Start with 4 ml per 100 liters, increasing by 2 ml per 100 liters every 2–4 days until KH and calcium stabilize. Use calcium as the dosage regulator; KH from organic Balling may take up to 2 days to show on test kits. Do not exceed 20 ml per 100 liters per day. For large systems, split dosing across multiple canisters/pumps.
Use as “saving-mode” to combine organic and inorganic Balling. Test KH and calcium during the first 2 weeks. Two options:
- RKS at 75% and organic solution at 25%
- RKS at 50% and organic solution at 50% (5 equal parts dosing)
Allow 5–10 minutes between each pump dose. A 5th dosing pump is recommended; if not available, combine KH1 and KH2 in one container and double the dose.
Reduce reactor capacity to 50%, then start with 2 ml per 100 liters daily. Adjust by 1 ml per 100 liters to maintain 7.2–8.5 dKH and 390–440 mg/l calcium. Benefits include lower CO2 usage, improved pH stability, cleaner substrate, clearer water, extended reactor maintenance, and ongoing supplementation of elements consumed by bacteria.
