CupriSorb™ is a powerful, synthetic adsorbent filter media designed specifically for the rapid and efficient removal of copper and heavy metals from both freshwater and marine environments. It outperforms carbon in copper extraction, making it ideal for emergency copper removal and ongoing maintenance of aquariums, including those housing sensitive invertebrates.

This narrow-spectrum chelating resin effectively extracts all forms of copper, including chelated copper, from water and substrate, gradually eliminating copper leaching even from gravel or substrate beds. When used continuously, CupriSorb™ enables the successful culture of invertebrates in tanks previously treated heavily with copper.

For optimal performance, place CupriSorb™ in high-flow areas such as canister filters, chemical filtration modules, box filters, or trickle filters to maximize water contact. The media remains effective until it changes to a deep blue-black color, signaling exhaustion. It can be discarded or regenerated for repeated use, providing a cost-effective solution for copper management.

Usage guidelines recommend approximately 500 mL of CupriSorb™ per 1,200 liters (300 gallons) of water to remove up to 15,000 mg (12 ppm) of copper. To ensure complete removal of copper leaching from substrates, continue use for at least two weeks after copper levels test undetectable. Monitoring copper levels with a reliable test kit such as MultiTest: Copper™ is advised to track effectiveness.

CupriSorb™ is an essential filtration and conditioning product for aquarists seeking to maintain healthy aquatic environments by controlling harmful copper concentrations. Its ability to remove copper efficiently supports the health of aquatic life and enhances water quality in both freshwater and marine systems.
