Vibrant Sea™ is a highly concentrated, anhydrous blend of salts expertly formulated for marine and reef aquariums. This premium salt mix contains all essential major, minor, and trace elements found in natural seawater, enhanced with elevated potassium levels to support vibrant reef environments. Its precise formulation delivers accurate concentrations of magnesium, calcium, and strontium while maintaining proper alkalinity and pH, making it ideal for closed reef aquarium systems.
Being an anhydrous salt ensures exceptional uniformity from batch to batch, allowing you to produce more saltwater from less product. Vibrant Sea™ dissolves quickly and can be mixed and used the same day, providing convenience and efficiency for aquarium maintenance.
At a specific gravity of 1.023, Vibrant Sea™ yields optimal water parameters:
pH: 8.4-8.5
Alkalinity: 3-4 meq
Calcium: 425-445 mg/L
Magnesium: 1,250-1,350 mg/L
Potassium: 500-550 mg/L
Strontium: 8-10 mg/L
Directions
- Mix Vibrant Sea™ with dechlorinated tap or purified water. Using a commercial dechlorinator like Prime® is recommended to neutralize chlorine and chloramines. For poor source water quality, purification with a Seachem Pinnacle™ RO/DI system is advised.
NOTE: For small batches, add 27 g per liter for specific gravity 1.020 or 31 g per liter for 1.023. For larger volumes, use 1/2 cup per 6 L (1.58 US gallons) for 1.020 or per 5.25 L (1.38 US gallons) for 1.023. - Stir thoroughly until fully dissolved. Avoid excessive mixing to prevent cloudiness, which will dissipate once added to the aquarium.
- Measure specific gravity. Reef aquariums should maintain 1.020–1.025 at 24°C (75°F). For example, 540 g creates 20 liters at 1.020, and 620 g creates 20 liters at 1.023.
- Adjust salt concentration as needed by adding more salt or dechlorinated water.
- Perform a 20% water change every two weeks or as necessary to sustain optimal water quality.
USAGE NOTE: NEVER mix salt directly in an aquarium containing animals. In new setups, add animals only after salt is fully dissolved, aerated, and specific gravity adjusted. Use Seachem’s Stability® to prevent “new tank syndrome” and reduce animal losses.
