Potassium is an essential main nutrient for all organisms. In seawater the natural potassium concentration is ca. 408 ppm. Potassium consumption in saltwater aquaria usually is small since potassium does not form insoluble compounds and is only minimally adsorbed by other substances. The potassium level can often be maintained by water changes. The use of zeolites and other adsorbers can result in a potassium deficiency. One indication of potassium deficiency is loss of color in corals and the retraction of polyps.
With Tropic Marin® POTASSIUM the potassium concentration can be re-adapted to the natural level and may improve vitality and colors of many corals.
• Essential main nutrient for all organisms
• Improve vitality and colors of many corals
Use the new dosing calculator for an easy determination of the required amount of dosage for your aquarium.
The natural potassium concentration (approx. 408 mg/l) should not be exceeded – higher potassium concentrations can be harmful for sensitive invertebrates. On the other hand, by adjusting the potassium concentration to the natural level with Tropic Marin®POTASSIUM may improve vitality and colors of many corals. Potassium concentration should always be measured before dosing Tropic Marin® POTASSIUM.
