Hand built in Germany the Deltec FR90 fluidised reactor is a multipurpose unit for housing various filter medias such as ROWAphos or carbon but can also be used for biological medias. Lightweight media that does not need to be fluidised such as carbon can be placed in a filter bag inside the reactor or loosely trapped between sponges or filter floss.
The units are pressurised so can be run externally or partly submerged in a sump. A
separate pump will need to be used to supply water through the reactor.
Water is fed directly down a central tube to the bottom of the reactor where it is dispersed evenly through a diffuser plate, back up through the media and out the fitting in the lid.
This design allows even distribution and flow through the media and efficiently expels any trapped air from the body of the reactor or the media.
Simple to use and maintain the FR reactors feature a robust twist off bayonet lid to allow easy tool free access and unions on the hosetail fittings for easy pipework removal. Should you need to re-purpose the reactor over time Deltec have made the components of their latest reactor ranges universal to allow for the FR reactor to be easily converted to a PF Calcium Reactor or NFP Nitrate Reactor using additional upgrade components, available separately.
