Once removed from the coconut the fibrous husk is screened and then prepared for use by grinding to the appropriate size. This slightly acidic substrate contains high antibacterial properties and has a high percentage of lignin which will resist rotting, even under wet conditions.
Directions: Spread the substrate evenly over the bottom of the enclosure to a depth of 1-2" (2.5-5cm). Spot clean daily by removing soiled areas of substrate and replacing with fresh Coco Bedding. Coco Bedding can be used either on its own or as a mix with other substrates and can be used wet or dry. If extra humidity is required then moisten the Coco Bedding but avoid over wetting and making it waterlogged. As the Coco Bedding dries out it can be sprayed to maintain the required moisture level. The Coco Bedding should be replaced every two to three weeks or more frequently if it becomes heavily soiled.
