HyperSorb™ is a cutting-edge synthetic adsorbent designed to outperform all other blended synthetic media and carbons. Renowned for its exceptional organic removal capacity, it effectively eliminates organic waste, toxic vapors, and other pollutants from aquatic environments. Suitable for both freshwater and marine systems, HyperSorb™ helps stabilize ionic balance and aids in controlling ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate levels, ensuring a healthier habitat for your aquatic life.
Directions
For optimal use, place HyperSorb™ in a filter bag, such as The Bag. Each 250 mL treats up to 300 L (75 US gallons) of water. Prior to use, rinse the media thoroughly. The exhaustion of the media is indicated by a noticeable discoloration of the beads, shifting from yellow to deep brown.
Regeneration
HyperSorb™ is easily regenerated to restore its full activity. Soak the media in a 1:1 bleach-to-water solution for 24 hours in a non-metallic container, ensuring the area is well ventilated and away from children. Use regular 8.25% hypochlorite household bleach without scents or dyes—avoid splash-less bleach. After soaking, rinse well and then soak for 8 hours in a solution containing 4 tablespoons of Prime® or an equivalent dechlorinator per cup of water. Rinse thoroughly again. For freshwater applications, follow with a 4-hour soak in a solution containing 2 tablespoons of buffer per cup of water, such as Discus Buffer® or Neutral Regulator®. This process restores the original color and full adsorption capacity, making HyperSorb™ ready for reuse.
Please note that some slime coat products may permanently foul the media, making regeneration difficult. Do not reuse if a bleach or chlorine odor is detectable. When in doubt, soak the beads in a small amount of water and test for residual chlorine using a chlorine test kit.
Experience superior filtration and organic removal with HyperSorb™, the reliable choice for maintaining pristine aquatic environments.
