1. What do I need to set up my first aquarium?
You'll need the tank, a filter, a heater for tropical fish, lighting, substrate, a water conditioner and a test kit. Many aquarium kits include the filter and light, which makes starting out simpler.
3. How often should I do water changes?
For most aquariums, change around 10 to 20% of the water every week or two. Regular small changes keep nitrate down and conditions stable.
