This is such a great multipurpose guard and flow director for the MP40
So straight off it works nicely as a Nemguard with a finer mesh but also does the trick of improving water movement at the surface. The original factory-fitted version was designed to give the widest flow pattern, the flow director simply redirects to give improved surface agitation and reoxygenation, the design also extends the downflow on a gentle slope helping to reduce sand being blown around the aquarium.
